Description

Please indicate if your department or organization plans to participate by Wednesday, Sept. 26.

IFAS/CALS TailGATOR provides an opportunity to showcase your department or organization to CALS students, alumni and friends.

Your interactive display is the main attraction this year as we celebrate the 21th annual TailGATOR through the theme "This is CALS."

The audience will range from prospective and current students to alumni, donors, faculty and staff.

TailGATOR Display Instructions

  • Displays may be delivered to the Stephen C. O'Connell Center loading dock on Friday, Oct. 5 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Displays will be stored in a designated location; see David Straley or his staff. We encourage you to drop off your materials on Friday as navigating campus on Saturday may be difficult. Please note that the SCOC and CALS are not responsible for valuables left in the storage area. Displays may not be dropped off after 2 p.m.
  • TailGATOR will begin three hours prior to kickoff of the football game. Display setup begins one hour before the start of the event and displays must be taken down immediately following the event.
  • Following TailGATOR, displays/materials may be left in a storage area at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. Display materials must be picked up by noon on Monday, Oct. 8.
  • Tables will be 8' long.
  • Please note that the sale of items must be approved in advance by the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. If your department/organization plans to offer items for sale, please contact Cathy Carr, chcarr@ufl.edu, to coordinate approval.
  • Departments will receive two complimentary meal tickets for use by faculty/staff working displays. Names must be submitted in advance.
  • Students will receive TailGATOR information via email; TailGATOR is free to current CALS students who register in advance. Additional guests may register for $12.50 each in advance. A limited number of meal tickets will be sold for $15.00 at the door.

Silent Auction Benefitting the CALS Alumni and Friends Scholarship Endowment

Departments and organizations are encouraged to participate in the silent auction by donating a themed item/basket. Please indicate if your group will participate. One hundred percent of the proceeds benefit the CALS Alumni and Friends Scholarship Endowment. Scholarships from this endowment may be given to students in any CALS major.

All silent auction items should be brought to the CALS Dean's Office by Aug. 1 as we will be using an online silent auction system in advance of TailGATOR.
